Mission:
The mission of the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine/Midwestern University is to meet the contemporary societal need for physicians by emphasizing care and educational experiences needed to serve all communities. The curriculum provides an innovative academic foundation incorporating the philosophy of osteopathic principles and practices, striving to be fully integrated throughout the basic and clinical sciences, while promoting faculty development and research
In the past five years, nearly 98 percent of AZCOM students passed the COMLEX Part I exam the first time, exceeding the national average by more than five percent. It’s no surprise that our graduates earn residency positions at outstanding health care facilities such as the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, Loyola University Medical Center, Mesa General Hospital, Tempe St. Lukes’ Hospital, Malcolm Grow Medical Center at Andrews Air Force Base, Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, University of Massachusetts Medical School, Johns Hopkins, the Maricopa Medical Center, and Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.
AZCOM’s patient-centered didactic curriculum and early clinical experiences prepare you for challenging clinical rotations with our strong medical partners throughout the Southwest region. Our professional clinical educators know it’s important for you to follow them not only in hospitals but also in their private practices. And you’ll see your value to a diverse population when you’re able to put your skills to work in rural and underserved urban communities.
